Disability Sport Wales

Clear navigation and user focused

The Client

The Federation of Disability Sport Wales (Disability Sport Wales) was established in 1985 for the sole purpose of benefiting disabled people through the pursuit of sports and physical activity. It is recognised by Sport Wales and Welsh Government as the national lead body for the strategic development of disability sport in Wales.

The Brief

Spindogs were required to deliver a bilingual, fully accessible content managed website as per the agreed specification. The website needed clear user flow and the navigation was key, wherever possible a viewer should be able to find all content within 3 clicks as well as be strongly linked with social media. There would be a restricted area built into the system allowing better collaboration and document sharing between authorized stakeholders.

The Solution

Working with the Disability Sport Wales team we defined three types of visitor to the site and created a home page to allow these visitors direct links into relevant sections.  Each section has its own menu but general page structures remain consistent.  Both video and social media links are incorporated into the footer areas of relevant pages.

A bespoke login area was also developed to give access to tailored news and documents for key stakeholder groups.  The area was developed within the existing website style to ensure ease of use and consistency for all users.
