Tuesday saw the launch of this year’s Canmol awards, the marketing excellence awards organised by the Chartered Institute of Marketing in Wales. It was great to hear from three previous winners and two judges, to find out what you should focus on in your application and how the previous winners have used the resulting PR to their advantage.
More details can be found at www.canmol.com and I encourage all of our clients to check out the categories and criteria and consider entering.
A few tips that the judges mentioned:
- Don’t be long winded – get to the point and be extremely clear about the campaign objectives and how you measured success
- What insights into the market did your campaign reveal?
- How did your campaign compare with your competitors’ and how did it challenge the conventions of your sector?
- Was your campaign both creative and innovative?
Thanks to Roger Pride and Jonathon Deacon for the advice!
Here’s a pic of the great folks from Spindogs, Rockadove and Hugh James at the event:
Good luck with your entries!
