Recently we have welcomed two new developers Sian and Luke to the Spindogs family.

As Front end developers Sian and Luke spend their time taking layouts created by the designers and developing them into pretty, responsive websites.  They are also experts at integrating content management systems such as WordPress to give clients more control over their sites.

Newbies – Spindogs

We grabbed the two of them for a quick catch-up about how they’re finding their time as part of the Spindogs family so far.

How did you first hear about Spindogs?

S: I first heard about Spindogs through a friend when I was first looking for a role in Cardiff. Originally from Pembrokeshire, I was always looking to make that move to the capital city.

L: When I began studying for a web developer, I invested some time into exploring agencies in Wales and Spindogs was always on my radar. Also, my first developer position was in a company just around the corner so I used to walk past the offices on my way to work!

What do you like most about working at Spindogs?

S: I like the way everyone looks out for each other – no matter how much someone else has on, they are always willing to help if you look like you need a hand. There is a brilliant culture both professionally and socially. I also like the fast-paced environment – I can be working on a different project from one week to the next – it’s exciting!

L: The atmosphere – there is never a dull day here, and even walking in on a Monday morning is welcoming! There is always something going on, and everyone is super friendly and helpful. There is also lots of cake!

How would you describe the Spindogs experience?

S : Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious – Extraordinarily good; wonderful.

What is your favourite social media channel and why?

L: Twitter is the only social media I tend to use these days. Following the big names in web development helps me try and keep up with it all as the industry is extremely fast moving!

S: It’s a close call, but probably Twitter at the moment. It’s a great way of keeping in touch with what’s going on. There are lots of really interesting Twitter channels out there, especially for front end development – lots of ideas!

Tell us an interesting fact about yourself…

S: I love 60’s and Motown music. I could listen to it all day. I was brought up listening to old lp’s of my mum and dad, and I can’t thank them enough for introducing me to it.

L: I once broke my foot trying to do a Charlie Chaplin style heel click after landing badly on a curb. Before you ask – No, alcohol was not involved!

What is your can’t-live-without piece of technology?

L: My noise cancelling headphones, they are oversized and look a bit ridiculous on my head, but it’s all worth it when listening to The Spice Girls hip-hop. Spice Girls forever
