We’re looking for a talented and experienced Financial Controller to join our team at Spindogs to own the day-to-day financial management process, manage month-end processes, analyze costs and reporting as well as support our annual strategy. Responsibilities

  • Provide the MD with absolute clarity as to the financial status of the company and insightful analysis and recommendations to inform their decision-making.
  • Responsible for the oversight of the day-to-day financial management processes performed by the outsourced team, (invoicing, payment collection, invoice payment, payroll and posting and reconciliation of receipts on company bank accounts).
  • Manage month-end processes (accruals, prepayments, deferred income)
  • Deliver accurate and timely reports such as weekly cashflow forecast, monthly management accounts
  • Analyse costs and reporting variances each month and make suggestions as to how these costs can be minimized to improve profitability.
  • Support annual budget process and quarterly reforecast
  • Liaise regularly with external accountants & auditors and ensure accuracy of R&D claim and statutory accounts.

Profile

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
  • Proactive ‘can do’ attitude and the ability to work on your own initiative – someone willing to do what is required to get the job done and contribute value to the company.
  • Comfortable working remotely with limited interaction with colleagues
  • Embrace and enjoy change. Adapt and be flexible, managing changing priorities on a day to day basis.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills across all staff levels, a genuine interest and desire to be involved with the entire team, the ability to persuade, influence and motivate colleagues.
  • Strong analytical skills, advanced Excel skills, experience of using Xero
  • Excellent attention to detail.

Part-time – 2 days a week
Hybrid role (with some expectation of working from our Cardiff office)
£45,000 full time equivalent (pro-rata)
