Nik’s .Net development experience spans over a decade. Specialising in Web for the past 5 and Umbraco for the past 4. He started in IT support, then went on to university and completed a Masters in Digital Systems Engineering.
From there he went on to work in a nuclear power station (just like in The Simpsons we imagine), after which he left the radioactive lifestyle and began working for an IT Support company where he started Windows Application Programming with a focus on Sage 200 and Sage 50 integration.
From there, Nik moved to website development, building bespoke reporting systems, slowly moving into more “Consumer” facing development using Umbraco as the core CMS. Before moving to Spindogs to continue working with Umbraco!
He’s not afraid to question people’s ideas which plays a key part in understanding the client's needs. His role involves, in his own words; “working with an amazing team to produce fun, interactive, engaging, and boundary-pushing websites to inspire our client’s visitors to engage with them. It involves developing functionality to make website management straight forward for editors and frontend experiences that users will love. Aside from the coding, I’m here to boost Spindogs engagement with the Umbraco community and help mentor other developers as their careers progress.”
Aside from being crowned an Umbraco MVP back in 2018, Nik’s also completed not one, but FOUR Tough Mudders. He also recently broke his ankle but didn’t realise until it was almost healed… We don’t know how that’s possible but we’re impressed.
