Making conservation cool

The client

The Nature Foundation was born in 2015 to advance conservation, welfare and protection of endangered and other species and habitats. The Foundation wants to work with populations across the globe, and preserve our planet for future generations.


The Brief

We were appointed by the Nature Foundation shortly after conception, to work with them on their identity and their online presence.

We knew that The Nature Foundation needed to stand out, as there are already a variety of animal organisations competing for the same attention. With this in mind, we needed to create an identity that would appeal to all generations so that the charity could successfully illustrate the importance of conservation to a wider audience. 

Although the Spindogs’ team have always been animal lovers, we were keen to broaden our knowledge about the animal kingdom. We researched other charities and zoos all over the world to find out their motivations and ambitions, and then used this information to ensure that The Nature Foundation’s brand was unique.


The Solution

The brand’s identity needed to be versatile so that it worked across web and print materials. To achieve this objective we designed a brand that could be adapted to suit its environment, for example, the logo can be recognised without any text.

The logo was incredibly important to the brand because this is what needed to appeal to a variety of audiences. The result is a logo that is very family orientated, with a carefully selected colour palette that will appeal to children. It also features a giraffe, rhino and elephant and these animals were chosen to highlight the importance of supporting endangered animals and conservation.

The website that we designed and developed for The Nature Foundation has a focus on the projects they are involved with and the challenges facing conservation, to both educate the audience and showcase how their donations can make a difference. Fantastic photographs and regular call to actions mean the site is both visually engaging and ensures regular encouragement for the user to get involved with the foundation.
