The Client

Visit Swansea Bay is run by the City & County of Swansea and is part of the Swansea Tourist Information Centre.

The Brief

Previously ‘Visit Swansea Bay’ was a printed manual but the client realised that now was the time to go digital! They wanted the content to be more accessible and reach a wider audience so came to the conclusion that a website would be the perfect fit.

The Solution

Spindogs created a visually immersive website that would attract the general public as well as their tourism partners. One of the challenges that we faced was creating a website that would be able to manage marketing partners producing content for the website, without jeopardising the tone of voice and style guidelines. Our solution was to create a sophisticated approval process which would allow Swansea Bay staff to check any changes before they went live.

Also, with new attractions and brands populating Swansea, they needed a website that would allow them to promote, advertise and create an experience that viewers would find friendly, helpful and easy to use. By addressing each of these elements we created a website that hit all their objectives successfully.

The Results

The website was launched in March 2014 and Visit Swansea Bay have received regular positive feedback from their users. The new website has also attracted new businesses as they like the fact that they can access the site and keep their content updated.

They are now measuring campaigns and, with the help of Spindogs, have been focussing on conversion facilities to see how their users are interacting with the site.
