We’re looking for a talented and experienced Finance Assistant to join our team at Spindogs. If you are AAT qualified and have an eye for detail we would love to hear from you! 

As an integral part of our finance department, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our financial records and ensuring smooth operations. You will be responsible for maintaining bank reconciliations and preparing payment runs. Collaborating closely with the Financial Controller, you will assist in month-end financial reporting activities such as preparing account reconciliations, revenue recognition, accruals, and prepayment analysis. Your role will involve overseeing the purchase ledger and guaranteeing the accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices, along with the requisite documentation for payment. This includes preparing payment runs and addressing supplier queries with professionalism and efficiency. You will also have a sound grasp and knowledge of Xero and it would be beneficial if you also had experience using Dext and ApprovalMax.

The perfect candidate would be ready to work in a fast-paced, fun environment, where collaboration between teams is key to our combined success, and having a passion for achieving tangible results for colleagues and clients is a must. You will be working on multiple tasks at once and should be comfortable with a changeable workload and be able to organise and prioritise accordingly.

 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain bank reconciliations
    – Run purchase ledger: Ensure accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices with the supporting documentation for payment. Prepare payment runs and respond to supplier queries promptly and professionally.
    -Run sales ledger: Respond to customer queries and chase overdue debt to ensure timely payment.
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset Register
  • Support the Financial Controller:  Prepare account reconciliations, revenue recognition, accruals, prepayment analysis, and month-end financial reporting.

  • AAT Qualified
  • Proactive ‘can do’ attitude and the ability to work on your own initiative – someone willing to do what is required to get the job done and contribute value to the company.
  • Embrace and enjoy change. Adapt and be flexible, managing changing priorities on a day-to-day basis.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills across all staff levels, a genuine interest and desire to be involved with the entire team, the ability to persuade, influence and motivate colleagues.
  • Experience using Xero and ideally supporting apps such as Dext and ApprovalMax
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills

  • 5 days a week; Full-time Monday to Friday
